  • April 8: Ashley MacIsaac

    Ashley MacIsaac’s remarkable career started in the 1990s when he exploded onto the music scene with his groundbreaking style of Cape Breton fiddle music. He has released 14 albums and has sold over 500,000 copies of his recordings. After many years touring the world, he still plays the fiddle with an authenticity, passion, and intensity that is undeniable.

  • April 9: Madison Violet

    Lisa MacIsaac and Brenley MacEachern are Madison Violet, a duo of singer-songwriters, who find inspiration in the endless roads and changing landscapes of their journeys. They create music inspired by their Cape Breton roots, while continuously exploring new sounds.

  • April 22: Morgan Toney and Keith Mullins

    Morgan Toney is a singer-songwriter and a fiddler from Wagmatcook First Nation. Since starting to play fiddle just a few years ago, Morgan has been able to invigorate the Atlantic music and Mi’kmaq communities by bringing together the fiery fiddling of Cape Breton Island with old songs of the Mi’kmaq. He calls this fusion “Mi’kmaltic” and it’s his way of celebrating his language and heritage. Keith Mullins is an acclaimed percussionist, guitarist, vocalist, and producer who is known to bring out the best in fellow musicians. He has been an active member of the East Coast music scene for over twenty-five years.

  • April 23: Julian Taylor

    Julian Taylor is a multifaceted musician who is equally at home with a full band, belting out electrified rhythm and blues, as on a folk stage, delivering a captivating solo singer-songwriter set. A staple of the Toronto music scene, Julian draws on his Indigenous (Mohawk) and West Indian heritage, and notes that in both, oral traditions are important to cultural preservation.

  • May 20: Zamani

    Zamani is a Halifax-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Coming from a musical family, she has been exposed to an eclectic array of sounds her whole life. Her expressive vocal phasing, melodic improvisation, and rhythmic subtleties show Zamani’s versatility and instrumental approach to the voice.

  • May 21: Measha Brueggergosman

    Measha Brueggergosman’s career effortlessly embraces the broadest array of performance platforms and musical styles and genres. Her opera career has taken her to the most prestigious theatres in the world, but she comes to our Opera House to perform with her jazz trio.

  • June 3: Kubasonics

    The Kubasonics call themselves “arguably Newfoundland’s finest Ukrainian band”. This award-winning ensemble combines top-flight musicianship, a dizzying array of exotic traditional instruments, and an eclectic high-energy stage show, with plenty of humour mixed in. The Kubasonics have performed across Canada, Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean, have released six albums, and are frequently featured in regional and national broadcasts.

  • June 4: Ben Caplan

    Ben Caplan has an uncanny ability to channel both wild abandon and quiet introspection. His songwriting pulls from many diverse influences, but both his music and his lyrics regularly draw from his Jewish heritage. Often mixing biblical imagery and klezmer-inflected melodies, Ben re-appropriates ancient sounds and themes with a decidedly contemporary twist.

  • May 7: Amanda Rheaume Band

    Amanda Rheaume is a singer-songwriter who has managed her own career for over 15 years. She is known for her rootsy, guitar-driven ballads and her pure, warm voice. Amanda is a citizen of the Métis Nation and is an active and proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community; a powerful storyteller, her music is both from the heart and the land.

  • May 6: Silver Wolf Band

    Silver Wolf Band is a four-piece, Indigenous folk-pop-rock band from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. Their songs are shaped and informed by family, community, love, and their homeland, and are delivered with stellar musicianship and rich harmony.
