The Ennis Sisters

Biography

Sisters Karen and Maureen Ennis made their first Lunenburg Folk Harbour appearance at the 2014 Festival and were joined by their sister, Teresa, in 2016.  This year, we are thrilled to welcome The Ennis Sisters back to the Folk Harbour stage. The trio’s combination of original songs, covers, and traditional Newfoundland music— in addition to their hilarious and captivating Newfoundland stage presence—creates a powerful musical experience audience members won’t soon forget.  The group’s talents have been recognized by several awards and nominations, including a 2002 Juno Award for Best New Country Artist, a 2002 SOCAN Award for the top grossing country single of the year, and several ECMA and Music NL awards and nominations. The Ennis Sisters will be performing at Festival fresh off the release of their new album, Keeping Time (released in June 2018), and will no doubt continue to impress fans with their Newfoundland humour, beautiful harmonies, and lyrics that resonate with audience members, from their home province and beyond.
