Red Moon Road – PAST EVENT

Red Moon Road – PAST EVENT

Biography

Red Moon Road made its debut at Folk Harbour in 2014 and left a lasting impression on the audience.  Band members Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner, Daniel Jordan, and Sheena Rattai produce a sound that seems greater than the sum of its parts.  The Daniels come from different musical backgrounds – progressive metal and jazz – and play mandolin, lap steel, banjo, and organ, while Sheena adds her choir-trained vocals to complete the trio’s sound.  The parts weave together to create a tapestry of song that is equally at home at campfires or concert halls.  Their impressive, well-choreographed, live shows feature impeccable three-part harmonies, a roots drum kit, split interestingly and pragmatically between two band members, and an acoustic guitar rigged to also be a bass.  Throw in a healthy dose of engaging stage presence and you will see why the Winnipeg group is rapidly amassing fans.  Their third recording, Sorrows and Glories, was released in 2015.
