Madison Violet

Biography

Combining the talents of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, Madison Violet has a unique sound with rich harmonies, skillful instrumentals, and engaging songwriting.  This Toronto-based indie-folk duo made its first Lunenburg Folk Harbour appearance at the 2011 Festival and quickly gained a legion of fans. Since Madison Violet’s most recent Folk Harbour performance (a Concert Series show in October 2012), the group has released The Knight Sessions (2017), The Year of the Horse (2016), and Come As You Are: Live (2013).  The duo is remarkably accomplished, with a myriad of awards and nominations, including a Juno nomination for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year for the album No Fool For Trying (2009) and a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Song of the Year Award for “The Ransom,” from that same album.  Beyond the group’s critical acclaim, Madison Violet is much-loved by fans, both local and international, and the group’s return to our Festival will surely be a wonderful musical treat.
