Biography

Kellie Loder is a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter from Badger, NL. She writes immensely poignant lyrics and sets them amidst dazzling melodies. Combining profoundly emotional stories with sparkling anecdotes, it seems that if she isn’t breaking your heart, she is splitting your sides. Raised in a family where music was ever-present, Kellie was part of a drumming ensemble at age 10 years, started playing guitar at 14, and began writing songs a few years later. She wrote 11 songs for her debut recording, The Way, released 2009. In no time, Kellie was making waves in the music world, and started receiving nominations, including Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Pop Artist of the Year from Music NL. Her 2018 release, Benefit of the Doubt, includes “Boxes,” a radio hit and winner of the 2017 MusicNL Video of the Year award. Anyone who has heard Kellie Loder or watched her perform knows one thing is certain: she is a towering talent about to explode on the world stage. 2019 marks Kellie’s first Folk Harbour appearance.
