Keara Leary-Daniels

Biography

Keara Leary-Daniels has been playing fiddle most of her life. At age three years, the Pleasantville, NS, native was encouraged by her fiddle-playing grandfather to try her hand at the instrument. At age five, she started taking lessons on her one-eighth sized left-handed fiddle. Now 15, Keara plays her full-sized fiddle at nursing homes, variety shows, and music festivals. Earlier this year, she won the Maureen Mossman Outstanding Fiddler trophy at the Bridgewater Music Festival. Keara studies Celtic fiddle at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton every summer. She is a member of the Lunenburg County Fiddlers Club and the Hill ‘n’ Dale 4-H club. Keara took the stage at Folk Harbour’s Young Folks concert in March.
