Hailing from the coastal haven of Mahone Bay, NS, Jennah Barry is one of Atlantic Canada’s surest sirens. The 31-year-old has a knack for crafting true-to-life vignettes with a twist of honesty that smarts. Her music effortlessly moves between folk, country, and indie-rock, and places her at the forefront of women making music as strong as it is sentimental. Her debut album, Young Men (2012) showcased Jennah’s uncanny ability to write the world and sing it so assuredly to life. She has also been careful to surround herself with a stable of collaborators who are consistently elevating her work to its instantly classic status. Jennah has previously appeared at Festival as part of our “Ken Matheson Program” as a solo artist and with her own youth choir, Evergreen. This is her first appearance as a Main Stage performer.
