Jeff Davis

Jeff Davis

Biography

Once again, Jeff Davis brings his wit, wisdom, and wry sense of humour to Folk Harbour.  Of course, he also brings his extensive knowledge of traditional music and his masterful musical abilities.  Jeff is one of America’s most respected collectors and interpreters of traditional music. He has traveled far and wide to visit “source singers” – farmers and miners who remembered the old songs and tunes – always looking for the best of the music that was once common in towns and villages.  A natural educator, his performances feature wonderful stories and fascinating explanations of the songs he plays. Jeff’s unassuming manner belies the fact that he can play fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandocello, bones, and jaw harp like no one else. A featured artist at 31 previous Festivals and a Lifetime Friend of the Festival, Jeff is the very embodiment of what is truly at the heart of Folk Harbour.
