It’s often said that a group is greater than the sum of its parts, and when it comes to the musical essence of the Good Lovelies, there is just no better way to describe it. Kerri Ough, Sue Passmore, and Caroline Brooks are each immensely talented vocalists and songwriters; however, it’s their voices interwoven in harmony – powerful and pure, organic and inspiring – that elevate the Good Lovelies from impressive to peerless. The Good Lovelies formed in 2006 for what was to be a one-time performance; instead, they have released four studio albums (including their Juno-winning 2009 debut), a pair of EPs, a live recording, a Christmas collection, and have toured extensively, nationally and internationally. Not surprisingly, they have accumulated audiences and accolades the world over. Since their first Folk Harbour appearance at our 25th Festival, the Good Lovelies have been fan favourites. They instantly charmed the audience with their sparkling stage presence, marvellous vocals, and first-rate musicianship. The group also appeared in 2014, and we enthusiastically welcome the Good Lovelies – and their synergistic sound – back this year.
