Crys Matthews was nothing short of a sensation when she performed at the 2022 Folk Harbour Festival, and she was immediately invited for a return engagement, this year appearing with Heather Mae. A North Carolina native who now calls Virginia home, Crys blends Americana, folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, and funk into bold, complex performances steeped in traditional melodies and punctuated by honest, original lyrics. A dynamic and compelling songwriter, Crys is equally at home writing thoughtful songs about love and life as she is with tackling social justice themes including gun violence reform, Black Lives Matter, Me Too, and LGBTQ equality.
