Cladach

Cladach

Biography

Cladach (Gaelic for “coastline”) is a Mahone Bay-based Celtic quintet. Led by Scottish fiddler Eilidh Buchanan, Cladach blends tunes from Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and the Shetland Isles. The group’s repertoire – featured regularly at the Saltbox Sunday Sessions in Mahone Bay – includes lively jigs, driving reels, and laid-back grooves. In addition to Eilidh on fiddle, the band members are Paul Buchanan (guitar and vocals), Martin King (banjo and concertina), Rich Marchand (percussion), and Stephanie MacLeod (flute). Eilidh and Paul, who met at Folk Harbour, have both played the Festival Main Stage (Eilidh with Brolum in 2004 and both with Flat Fifth in 2006) and are regular facilitators of our Val Meister Young Fiddlers workshop. This is Cladach’s first Festival appearance
