Bon Débarras

Biography

Festival goers immediately loved the energetic music, dynamic personalities, and captivating stage presence that Bon Débarras brought to Lunenburg for the first time in 2011. Blending traditional French Canadian, country, rock, and blues styles, this Montreal-based trio brings the best of traditional music with global and contemporary twists. The combined talents of Dominic Desrochers, Jean-François Dumas, and Véronique Plasse create a musical experience that resonates with fans everywhere. Since the group’s second Festival appearance in 2014, Bon Débarras has released its third studio album, En Panne de Silence (2017), which features traditional fiddle, banjo, guitar, and dance, mixed with strong vocals and urban influences true to their Montreal roots. Although their name translates to “good riddance,” fans of high-energy French-Canadian music will be thrilled to welcome Bon Débarras once again to the Festival stage. Don’t forget your dancing shoes for this group’s performance!
