VOLUME 20 #6 This edition of Folk Lines provides details about our Festival and our Saturdays in the Park series. We also are calling out to anyone who might be able to help out with the return of the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival in August! ![]() The 37th annual Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival After two years of scaled down “mini” Festivals, we are so thrilled to be presenting a full Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival from August 4 to 7 this year. It is going to be such a celebration and a chance to reconnect with friends—please join us for this marvellous community event! ![]() Festival lineup The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society has curated a fantastic lineup for Festival 2022! We are very proud to say that we invited all artists who were booked to play in 2020 to be part of this year’s event, as we felt a huge obligation to fulfill our contracts from that year. While we are sorry that some groups have disbanded since 2020, we are delighted that so many acts still existed and agreed to appear this year. It is a stellar lineup, and an ideal way to welcome the return of a full Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival— making musical memories by the sea since 1986! ![]() Festival schedule The full schedule for the Festival is available here. ![]() Volunteers and Billets Many things make the Folk Harbour Festival unique, and the way our community rallies around the event is a huge part of our success. For the last two years, we have not needed many volunteers or billets, and we have lost touch with some potential helpers. If you can give some time to an aspect of the Festival (site, box office, concessions, hospitality, transportation, etc.) please get in touch!! While we can use volunteers in all areas, we have a particular need for drivers who can help get musicians to and from their stages throughout the weekend. And if you can host a musician or two in your home, let us know! With the turn-over in housing in and around Lunenburg in the last couple of years, many of our regular billets have moved away. If you have billeted in the past, we would love to have you get involved again, and if you are new to town, this is your chance to experience Folk Harbour up close and personal! ![]() Can you help? If you are able to help with volunteering or billeting, please let us know! And if you have put your name forward but not heard back, please reach out again. We have had staffing challenges this year and things might be missed…but we want to hear from you! Folk Harbour office: (902) 634-3180 e-mail: admin@folkharbour ![]() ![]() Tickets Full Festival passes and individual tickets (afternoon, evening, day, Folk Steps, gospel concert, etc.) are available at the Folk Harbour office (902) 634-3180 and through Ticketpro (1-888 311-9090). ![]() COVID-19 Policies The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society has been proactive in keeping our audience members, volunteers, staff, and musicians safe as we present live music in the time of COVID-19. All relevant public health measures that are in place at the time of our Festival will be rigorously adhered to. Folk Harbour’s Board of Directors is currently updating its COVID-19 policy to cover our summer events, including the Folk Harbour Festival. The full plan will be available soon on Folk Harbour’s website (www.folkharbour.com) but for now, here are two key points: 1. Unless the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society has to cancel the 2022 Festival, all Festival ticket and pass sales are final. 2. Folk Harbour’s summer events will be “mask friendly”. Given that individuals can be on opposite ends of the range of comfort levels for attending public events, we ask everyone to be respectful of each other’s choices. ![]() Government Funders We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada / Nous reconnaissons l’appui financier du gouvernement du Canada, the Province of Nova Scotia, and the Town of Lunenburg. ![]() ![]() Saturdays in the Park, 2022 This popular series of free, outdoor concerts at the Lunenburg Bandstand returns this year!
