Grand Opening Gala for the Lunenburg Opera House

October 5th, 8:00pm

If you love East Coast musicians and enjoy seeing them on stage together, you won’t want to miss the Grand Opening Gala and Songwriters’ Circle at the Lunenburg Opera House on Saturday, October 5, 2019.

JP Cormier, one of the foremost entertainers on the music scene today, first played the Folk Harbour Festival in 1998.  Kellie Loder is a recent Festival inductee, having played for the first time this past August. The NL Juno-nominated singer-songwriter wasted no time making her mark on the audiences, and received standing ovations wherever she played.  Reeny Smith is a three-time winner of Music Nova Scotia’s African Canadian Artist of the Year award. The powerful vocalist first performed at the Folk Harbour Festival in 2014. Cape Breton’s Keith Mullins has performed on various Folk Harbour stages over the years. An award-winning instrumentalist, Keith is a generous and valued collaborator by many on the East Coast scene, including fellow Songwriters’ Circle artist, Kellie Loder.  Appropriately, the emcee for the evening will be Bill Plaskett, a man whose connection to Folk Harbour goes back to the very beginning, as he is one of the founders of the Festival.  Bill was also named a Lifetime Friend of the Festival in 2001.

Tickets are available at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour office (902 634-3180), through TicketPro (1 888 311-9090), on line (www.folkharbour.com), and at Shop on the Corner and Caico-Mae Clothiers, Lunenburg; Kinburn Pharmasave, Mahone Bay; and Rose Bay General Store.
