Gadelle presents two generations of PEI women celebrating the music of their Acadian heritage, combining fiddles, guitar, accordion, octave mandolin, bass, keyboard, and step-dancing. Helene Bergeron and Louise Arsenault performed for Folk Harbour audiences in 1997 and 2000 with the group Barachois. In 2007 they were joined by Caroline Bernard and Samantha Gallant in the seven-piece all-female combo Les Girls. Reunited to form Gadelle, with Caroline taking the lead on vocals, the foursome is touring extensively, leaving joy in their path. Their first CD, a self-titled album, was released in 2009. With their shared love of the lively music of Ile St. Jean and their undeniable musical abilities, Gadelle will have us tapping and clapping through all their Festival performances.
