Ken Whiteley

WEBSITE
For many, Ken Whiteley is a physical representation of Canadian roots music. At ease with a variety of instruments, Ken pays homage to North American folk traditions in all their myriad forms through original and traditional songs. His impressive pedigree includes-in addition to studio work as both a musician and producer-time with the Original Sloth Band, in duo with brother Chris Whiteley, in trio with Mose Scarlett and Jackie Washington, and backing up peers on countless projects. Today Ken, his son Ben on bass, and Geoff Arsenault on drums bring a joyful mix of blues, jazz, folk, swing, and gospel music to the stage. It is always a privilege—and an adventure—to have Ken grace our Festival.
