Jeff Davis

WEBSITE
A master old-time musician and musicologist, New Englander Jeff Davis is a rare breed indeed. A natural educator, his performances feature wonderful stories and fascinating explanations of the songs and tunes he plays. A student and friend of first-generation song-catchers Anne and Frank Warner, Jeff grew up in a world inhabited by traditional source singers and is a direct link to the old-time singers and instrumentalists that shaped the folk revival. To top it all off, he is a fine singer and can play the fire out of the fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandola, bones, and jaw harp. A stalwart supporter of the Festival—including this one he has 24 under his belt!— Jeff's contribution has become deeply ingrained in Lunenburg's traditions.
