This remarkable young blues musician with an old, old soul has been creating a stir wherever he goes. In January 2010 he was the first Canadian to win the International Blues Challenge (solo/duo category) out of a field of performers from five continents. Matt has shared the stage with Randy Bachman, Bo Diddley, Little Feat, and many more, and he has recorded a CD with harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens (Piggyback). He has evolved from playing mostly cover tunes to winning two ECMAs for his first release of original songs, Something In-between. His show-stopping sets in Lunenburg in 2005 and 2006 guaranteed him a place in Festival lore. We welcome the New Brunswick singer, songwriter, and guitarist's return.
