25th Festival Reserve Fund

GuitarCreate a Legacy

As part of our preparations for the 25th Annual Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, your Board of Directors has decided to establish a Reserve Fund to ensure our future and better promote music education in Lunenburg County.
The purpose of the Reserve Fund is to allow people to make legacy donations, to channel any project-specific gifts and to place any annual operating surpluses as a hedge against years when weather or other circumstances create an operating loss.  It will also become the source of funding for eduational support programs such as scholarships, so that they do not depend on the annual budget for their survival.
This is an opportunity for Friends of Folk Harbour to provide gifts to the Society that go beyond a single year of support.  You will know that your gift is intended to do more than offset normal operating costs.  It will allow us to look beyond the demands of a single year's Festival and into growth projects and educational support that have not been possible up until now.
While we will develop plans to build the Reserve Fund over the coming years, our 25th anniversary gives us a rare opportunity to celebrate this milestone with gifts, either for your own satisfaction or to honour friends and family.  If you know someone who has a history with the Festival, a musician whose talent you wish to acknowledge or a person you want to honour, you can now do it through the Reserve Fund.  At your request, donations — fully tax deductible — will be acknoweldged with a letter or card to the person being recognized.  You may also add the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society to your estate planning knowing that the money you leave to the Society will be part of this longer term legacy.
Please join with us in this celebration.  Call the office at 902-634-3180 or send an e-mail to The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society.
A policy document has been drafted that provides more details on how the Board will manage the Fund.  This document is available on request.
